You may have noticed that I post many quotes from the manga/anime series Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima. There are many reasons why I have enjoyed this series; here are a few. - There's magic. Lots of magic. Not like poof-poof-abracadabra, but it is actually magic more based on martial arts and the like. - The characters are so very well developed and each is very distinct. - There are well-defined and interesting plot arcs that engage the reader/watcher and are suspenseful. - It is neither "shoujo" nor too much "shounen" but a perfect balance between the two. - Fairy Tail is filled with excellent humor that makes the reader laugh out loud every time. - Between all the humor and fighting, there are actually valuable lessons and insights about friendship, emotions, and the like. - There are many more reasons to like Fairy Tail that I haven't listed. Even though some parts are inappropriate, the other factors make it a very fun and involving series for the readers and watchers. Many fans of the series both love and hate the author Mashima at the same time. They love him because they're so into the series and the characters are so real to them, but they hate him because sometimes he causes the characters to be hurt in outrageous ways. Oh,well, that's all I have to say for now. Besides that this is the only anime I've personally watched so far. (Source link)
"Moving on doesn't mean you forget about things. It just means you have to accept what happened and continue living." (Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima. The character Erza Scarlet to the character Wendy Marvell. ) The author Hiro Mashima uses this quote to convey that people should build upon their pasts, not forget them, in order to create a better future. The first part of the quote mentions that we shouldn't forget what happened, even if it was painful. It refers to any strongly emotional experience. This is so that we can learn from what occurred in the past and make different choices based on the consequences of our former actions. Mashima reminds readers that there is unseen hope in the future to look forward to. Erza encourages Wendy to accept that her loved ones of the past are gone and that she will find new friends in the people that she worked together with in the last plot arc. She eventually learns to do so and becomes very happy. To create a better future, we should build upon our pasts instead of forgetting or regretting them. (Source Link)
"Fear is not 'evil,' it only allows us to learn our own weaknesses. When we learn our weakness, people can grow stronger and kinder." (Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima. The character Gildarts Clive to the character Natsu Dragoneel.) The author Hiro Mashima conveys through this quote that fears and weaknesses will not cause serious disability to a person, but in the end will help them to become stronger people when they overcome them. In the beginning of the quote, Mashima mentions that “fear is not ‘evil’.” This means that we can press forward if we learn to accept our fears. He then says that when we know what we fear, we will know what our weaknesses are. From there, we will be able to work on overcoming our vulnerabilities and make them strengths. A similar example in Rick Riordan’s Blood of Olympus conveys one of the protagonists being able to defeat a certain powerful enemy by accepting fear and emotions rather than trying to be too brave. The message of Mashima’s quote is that we can grow stronger by accepting our fears. (Source Link)
